The Ninth Annual MLA Reception
On Thursday, May 7, 2026, Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba hosted its ninth annual MLA Reception in Winnipeg. This event provided an opportunity to discuss the engineering and geoscientific professions. The annual MLA Reception is an important event for members of the Association, including Council, chapters, and committee members. 2026 Student Achievement Award - Nominations Close Tomorrow
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba is seeking nominations for the 2026 Student Achievement Award, which is intended to recognize an undergraduate engineering or geoscience student or group of students who have shown excellence in, and/or major contributions to, the concept/design of a groundbreaking engineering or geoscience project/thesis. Call for Abstracts: 2026 Ingenium Professional Development Seminars - Deadline for Submissions is Tomorrow
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba will host its annual conference, Ingenium, in a virtual format in November 2026. The Association welcomes abstracts for presentations on any topic related to engineering and geoscience and the professionals which practise in those fields, for consideration for inclusion in the Ingenium Professional Development Seminars. International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) Panel
In celebration of INWED 2026, join Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, for a panel discussion featuring past members from the original Committee for Increasing the Participation of Women in Engineering (CIPWIE). Featured panelists are Lindsay Melvin, P.Eng., Andrea Watts, P.Eng., Nusraat Masood, EIT, and Neemee Batstone, P.Eng. This event will be taking place in room E3-270 at the Price Faculty of Engineering at The University of Manitoba. Appetizers and other light treats will be served. Eligible practitioners are encouraged to participate in the 2025 Salary Survey through their online profile. By completing the survey, practitioners help provide valuable insights into engineers' and geoscientists' salaries and benefits across Manitoba. The results support practitioners in understanding how their compensation compares within the local market and against data from their peers. Understanding Allyship Training - Thursday, May 21, 2026
Prairie Catalyst will facilitate a one-hour virtual introductory EDI training session on Understanding Allyship. Following the workshop, participants will gain a clear understanding of key EDI terminology, learn to recognize unconscious bias in their surroundings and workplace, and explore their role in addressing bias through active allyship. Competitive Parental Leave Policies: How Do Manitoba Engineering Consulting Firms Measure Up? - Monday, June 15, 2026
The Technical Women in Consulting Engineering have conducted an anonymous poll of eight Manitoba engineering firms' parental leave top-up policies. They will present their findings along with the business case for competitive leave policies, as well as facilitate a panel discussion of engineers who are leading on this issue. Indigenous History Month: Screening of Building Bridges & Panel Discussion / Fireside Chat - Tuesday, June 16, 2026
