Practice Note - Safeguarding Intellectual Property
Concern has been raised to the attention of the Investigation Committee regarding the use of designs or design elements by engineering firms who did not create them. The practice note will outline the concept of copyright and the less-familiar moral rights in engineering design and discuss the importance of establishing contractual terms to address these matters between designers and clients. Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Manitoba (CPHR Manitoba) - Public Representatives Needed
CPHR Manitoba, the certifying body in Manitoba for the national Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, is currently looking for public representatives to sit on their Complaints and Investigation Committee. The Complaints and Investigation Committee exists to hear and investigate complaints, attempts to resolve them informally, and make decisions as to whether there is a breach of the CPHR Code of Ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct and may result in a referral to the Discipline Committee.
